The Production Monitoring Technologies Services (PMTS) team is part of the Enterprise Technology Infrastructure group which is responsible for all aspects of the enterprise infrastructure and various applications. This team is responsible for the architecture, engineering, development and oversight of new and existing applications for enterprise monitoring and systems management. Event monitoring is undergoing a transformation to support the firm’s strategic initiatives. This includes developing and implementing an overall event management strategy, including supporting the firms cloud strategy, retooling compute monitoring, implementing an AIOps solution linked to automation that will provide meaningful events whilst driving automated resolution of known events. The engineering manager will be responsible for the firm’s infrastructure monitoring platforms. As a technical thought leader with a wide experience and knowledge of vendor and open-source monitoring products and solutions, you will use your experience to help shape the future of monitoring eco-system and deliver a class leading service. As the engineering manager you must adopt and support a culture of diversity, intellectual curiosity, problem solving and openness. This is a hands on role, your skills will be used to drive, mentor and ultimately deliver solutions in a CI/CD fashion. You will be highly experienced working in an Agile fashion and be responsible for managing all aspects of the product delivery. Responsibilities Strong knowledge of industry leading monitoring solutions both vendor owned and open-source Hands on engineer who is comfortable in delivery as well as managing a team of engineers Strong customer engagement skills and strong financial acumen. Strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions having implemented advanced monitoring and automated solutions across a variety of applications and systems for both on-prem and cloud environments. Experience working as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer in a scaled cloud environment. Proven leader in the engineering environment and have a proven record in transforming environments whilst managing the costs of the monitoring products closely. Required Qualifications 7 years of technology engineering experience 6 years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment 5 years of experience with strategic planning in technology 3 years of Agile experience 5 years of experience with Linux operating system engineering or automation 5 years of platform engineering experience 3 years of experience with secure DevOps and deployment automation to cloud environments 3 years of team leadership or management experience Desired Qualifications Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships 3 years of Linux experience Experience communicating trends and impacts to all management levels Knowledge and understanding of DevOps principles Experience using business knowledge and critical thinking Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience Other Desired Qualifications 3 years of Cloud Foundry experience 3 years of experience with Cloud technologies 3 years of experience with Application performance, monitoring and optimization using Blazemeter, JMeter, Splunk and AppDynamics 2 years of experience in building and deploying microservices and cross channel restful Application Programming Interface (APIs) using Apigee, Consul, Resilience4J and Redis 5 years of experience with Linux operating system engineering or automation Experience in developing, deploying, monitoring and building large distributed and parallel systems using container technology including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, AWS Fargate Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages: Java, Groovy, Python Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
