Senior Marketing Manager
The Senior Marketing Manager (SMM) will provide primary, day-to-day account management and consultation to their assigned clients. The SMM is responsible for growing and maintaining client relationships through the successful execution of current programs and identifying and securing opportunities for additional account revenue. Additionally, the SMM may manage 1-2 direct reports and ensure their performance is aligned with the expectations of both RSM and the client. The SMM position is varied and will consist of multiple tasks to fulfill required services while meeting and exceeding our client’s expectations.
General Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the Account Team & Creative Team on program recommendations, marketing strategies and actions for the client that drive incremental, measurable Return on Investment
- Provides excellent customer service to the client through a strong sense of urgency in day-to-day interaction, planning and execution of client events and anticipating the client needs
- Maintains communication with their Account Team/Senior Management to ensure that assigned work is handled in a positive, timely and efficient manner
- Leverages a strong primary relationship with the client, understands the core aspects of the client business model, and can identify and secure growth opportunities within existing client relationships
- Takes the initiative to identify new business contacts and resulting opportunities and works to establish those relationships
- Builds a solid foundation of trust with Senior Management and the client through clear direction, guidance and follow-up to ensure expectations are consistently exceeded
- Manages account workflow to Creative Department and maintains open dialogue in identifying current and future project needs
- Responsible for managing program budgets, meeting/exceeding revenue projections and is accurate in forecasting future/potential project expenses
- Develops PowerPoint presentations for program pitches and recaps and leads meetings/calls
- Sources assets, materials, supplies, staffing and/or media to support programs and events
- Possesses full comprehension of the realities of retail and current industry trends; recognizes the potential opportunity they present to current and future programs
- Leads by example and empowers others to exceed expectations
- Manages performance of direct reports and provides clear, consistent feedback to facilitate growth
- Travel is required and may be frequent depending on the needs of the assigned account
Required Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional organization, planning and project management skills that reflect strong attention to detail
- Proficient use of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and comfortable with technology
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills
- Displays a high level of energy, persistence and a positive outlook; learns from mistakes and constructive criticism and continuously seeks ways to improve
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively toward a goal
- Commands strong presence in sales/presentation environment
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in Marketing or Promotions, Agency experience preferred
- Knowledge of CPG industry and Retail a plus
