Come Build Your Career Under OUR RoofJob Description:PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT – 2ND SHIFTThe Production Superintendent is responsible for meeting the needs of customers by leading in the realization of individual, team, and company goals, in maximizing the production of quality, cost effective product in a safe and healthy environment and process. The Production Superintendent is responsible for safety, quality, and productivity through direct leadership and coordination of coaches, assistant foremen, line leaders, and production operators. Scope of supervision extends to maintenance and shipping areas and duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES* Drive productivity and foster continuous improvement through sound management practices including communication of goals, training of operators, and operation of machines within established process specifications, and identification and resolution of productions. Maximize production efficiencies, achieve targeted raw material usages, and minimize yield losses while producing high quality product in a safe manner. Troubleshoot and quickly resolve production method or machinery issues that are impacting run rates, downtime, or quality.* Plan and lay out work, assign, instruct, direct, and assist employees. Maintain positive employee relations, administer positive recognition, and address employee concerns and needs through active communication.* Maximize production efficiencies, achieve targeted raw material usages, and minimize yield losses while producing high quality product in a safe manner.* Provide a safe work place through adherence to company safety policy, housekeeping and defined standards of training. Create new/modify existing safety procedures when required. Monitor compliance to safety policies and procedures, conduct inspections of plant areas, and ensure deficiencies found are resolved or appropriately communicated. Ensure production crew is well trained, involved and committed to meeting production, quality, and safety requirements.* Maintain an excellent quality level of product produced at the lowest cost. Monitor key operating parameters to ensure the product adheres to specifications while minimizing raw material usage. Act as a liaison between the production crews and quality department on issues. Work with production operators to identify and reduce controllable quality issues.* Provide leadership and direction to the production crew on a daily basis. Ensure production operators receive appropriate training for their positions. Participate in the selection discussion for filling open operator positions and participate in the interview process for new production personnel. Support communication throughout the plant and maintain a union free workplace.* Partner with Engineering to investigate, determine, and eliminate causes of reduced production efficiencies, rates, or substandard quality. Perform other duties as assigned.TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS* Familiar with standard Manufacturing concepts, practices & procedures* Skilled in problem identification/resolution* Demonstrated communication skills and MS Office proficiency* Excellent mechanical aptitude* Understanding of basic statistics and use within the operational environmentGENERAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS* Planning and organizational skills including ability to manage multiple priorities* Results oriented, high energy, credible, honest, self-motivated* Union free work experience, if applicable* Excellent communications skills: written, verbal and listening* Coaching skills to include: demonstrating procedures, leading by example and coaching for improvement, etc.* Demonstrated willingness to be actively involved in day-to-day plant activities* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously* Familiarity with Safety activities including root cause investigations, safe behavior observations, team activities, industrial hygiene, and OSHA complianceBASIC QUALIFICATIONS* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Technical or Production, or a related field* 3+ years of experience as a supervisor or in a manufacturing environment.* 2 years of demonstrated experience with process and quality improvements#ZRHWe believe our employees are our greatest resource.
