OEM Area Sales Manager – North Carolina and South Carolina

You will drive the sales performance and manage a territory, comprising of OEM focused sales people which meets its volume growth (balanced selling), price/quality/margin, cost and customer satisfaction objectives, through excellent external and internal customer relations and an increasing market share in the geographical area of responsibility in Electrification Global Markets.

Reporting to the District Sales Manager (DSM), need to implementation of aggressive measures to achieve sales to OEM customers, systems and services in the assigned geography. He/she also ensures individual BU sales targets are met or exceeded and that net margin maximizes profits within the geography. The individual oversees OEM planning and ensures that strategies are aligned with the District and National OEM objectives, in conjunction with talent management and recruitment.

Ideal candidates will be based in Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC, or Florence SC.

This position is graded as global grade 11.

Your responsibilities

  • Assess Performance with annual performance reviews for all OEM personnel
  • Creates development plan for all employees in geography including technical and professional training
  • Manages balanced sales scorecard. Track performances for all BU’s and make sure each one is living up to the expectations of the geography. Focused share growth by BU and OEM segment
  • Coaching of sales resources to make wiser decisions, plan better, and effectively allocate their resources based on customer needs and potential for growth
  • Monthly Review of local performance of all Direct/Distributor served OEMs and Rep companies
  • Quarterly plan review with Top 10 OEMs
  • Escalation point on OEM related direct or sale channel commercial decisions
  • ASM will be responsible for top local accounts relationship & results
  • Implementation of the National OEM strategy within the geography
  • Collaboration with National OEM Enablement leader to measure conversions and pipeline in SFDC, working in tandem in Channel organization
  • Measure/monitor OEM Conversions, pipeline progression and product mix within OEM segment

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering, Marketing or Business or technical field with a minimum 10 years related experience or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred
  • Sales experience of a $5M + business
  • Exceptional analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • Senior Account Management experience
  • Understanding and experience with ABB portfolio of products and services highly desirable
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and travel up to 50% regionally within the assigned territory
  • Experience leading a team highly desirable
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
