Position: Marketing & Content Manager
Responsibility and Authority
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop marketing strategies and execute successful marketing campaigns that deliver profitable growth for LSI. The manager will also be responsible for drafting and disseminating internal and external communications to stakeholders and employees. They will be closely aligned with critical functional business partners to fully realize our niche market initiatives across the marketing calendar that will drive brand engagement and achieve the company’s overall business KPIs. Key focus areas include segmented marketing, advocacy material and marketing collateral creation and distribution, and tradeshow administration. Primary responsibilities include producing and publishing content, graphic design, writing, editing, proofreading, and formulating content strategies. The Marketing & Content Manager must be comfortable finding creative ways of building a brand presence, as well as using analytics in the formulation of a content strategy. They will lead our marketing efforts and evaluate our marketing performance metrics.
Primary Duties
The Marketing & Content Manager will be involved with multiple departments and must be able to participate in and oversee the job functions listed below.
Marketing Activities
· Develops, directs, and executes annual marketing plan and campaigns that align with business objectives. This may include email campaigns, website updates, participation in industry conference tradeshows, events, webinars, etc.
· Collaborates with the Regional Field staff to ensure marketing efforts support their efforts and to develop relevant and accurate marketing collateral.
· Manages our integrated online and offline marketing operations including leveraging sponsorships, partnerships, and content development opportunities.
· Monitors our marketing landscape to help inform and improve marketing strategies and innovative solutions.
· Analyzes competition, consumers, and trends to influence innovative approaches and plans.
· Tracks, analyzes, and reports the success of marketing campaigns and events.
Content Activities
· Creates a strong brand presence with innovative promotional offerings, online and offline marketing campaigns, marketing events, and marketing content and collateral.
· Leads and ensures the consistency in the messaging, branding, content, and look-and-feel of all external communications and marketing materials.
· Performs quality control on all things brand related ensuring the highest standard in the use of our brand both in marketing material and when delivering live experiences at tradeshows, conferences, and events.
· Exhibits creative abilities and strategic design concepts for all marketing channels including, but not limited to print advertising, digital advertising, social media, sales collateral, signage, vessels, and other materials.
· Manages content across all platforms, social media strategy and presence, composes newsletters and blogs, creates email marketing strategies, and maintains the content calendar.
Tradeshow Activities
· Manages the tradeshow registration process, calendar, and booth schedule.
· Collaborates with Regional Field staff on the coordination of all aspects of the tradeshow season.
· Researches, recommends, and leverages trade shows, industry groups, and thought leaders to drive interest.
· Strengthens our relationship with clients and company partnerships through in person and electronic communications.
General Management Activities
· Uses a combination of in platform analytics, customer survey data, and sales data to measure program success.
· Manages the production and distribution of internal communication pieces (company memos, communications, updates, etc.).
· Maintains and updates our customer relationship management systems.
· Manages daily administrative tasks to ensure the Marketing department runs smoothly.
· Contact person for internal and external partners/agencies.
Required Experience & Qualifications
The Marketing & Content Manager must have the following experience and qualifications:
· 3-5+ years of progressive marketing experience across multiple channels, including graphic design, content management, and social/digital media experience.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or relevant field.
· Well-versed in Marketing automation, social media, and CRM tools.
· Ability to travel based on company needs.
· Natural ability to delegate responsibilities and provide leadership and training to employees
· Be able to sit and stand for extended periods and carry at least 35 lbs.
Desired Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate would possess the following characteristics and skills:
· Strong design and development skills – typography, layout, color and branding, and the ability to brainstorm and exercise strong conceptual thinking skills.
· Creativity and the ability to develop original content that provokes engagement.
· Strong aesthetic sense with advanced technical skills using Adobe CC (XD, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop), HTML, WordPress, and content management systems.
· Experience with web development process, digital file format standards, social media platforms, and browser compatibility.
· Intrinsic desire to thoroughly complete work with enthusiasm, positivity, and accuracy without having management direction to do so.
· Approach business activities using pragmatism and commercial judgement while considering the company’s goals, deadlines and commitment to quality.
Work Environment and Hours
This position will be based at the corporate office located in Charlotte, NC and will require the employee to work daily at the office.
