Lean Process Improvement Manager


This is a Contract position in Fletcher, NC posted April 27, 2021.

Overview: The Lean Business Process Improvement Manager is a key position helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the creation and embedding of LEAN methodology, and the supporting framework, to deliver business transformation. The Lean Business Process Improvement Manager will work closely with managers and their teams on continuous improvement of business processes, A3 thinking and Managing for Daily Improvements (MDI’s) with the use of Lean process improvement tools and methodologies. Will plan, implement and facilitate the work activity of the unit to accomplish goals and objectives, facilitate team decisions, resolve team conflict and assist in the development of implementation action plans, including follow-up. Job Responsibilities: Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned): Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. Getting members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks. Improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking. Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working. Identify trends and process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement monitoring system. Assist in the development and implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement strategy Assists leadership in identifying appropriate opportunities and metrics for successful Lean transformation. Accountable for leading key improvement efforts across enterprise-wide value streams using established Lean best practices, standard work processes, methods, and tools. Leads the facilitation of improvement projects and events of a complex nature with minimal oversight, including assessment, planning, and follow-up. May be responsible for oversight of multiple departments. Meets quality standards and the production of expected deliverables during all phases of the event and project life cycle. Supports the development of leader standard work for a linked checking system and a linked learning system that connects senior management work to that of the front lines. Coaches and mentors Leadership teams in establishing and maintaining the strategic focus area, action plans, dashboards and linked measurement system to execute the work. Provide leadership and direction to Black Belts and Lean resources in executing the Lean Six Sigma strategy for breakthrough levels of improvement in customer satisfaction, process capability and quality. Qualification: Qualification: •Bachelors degree required. •Minimum 10 years of experience in Manufacturing with increasing responsibility in Operations, Engineering, or Continuous Improvement required. Automotive industry preferred. •Lean Certification and Six Sigma Black Belt Certification required. •Understanding/expertise with ERP Systems required; Oracle preferred. •Experience implementing all aspects of Total Productive Maintenance required. •Able Travel up to 25% required. •Strong problem solving skills (DMAIC, Shainin, Lean, 8D, 5 Why, Is/Is Not). •Thoroughly proficient in PC application software (Minitab, MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint). •Experience in demand flow principles and plan for every part methodologies with the ability to understand financial measurements and goals in the Lean enterprise. •Proven success working in collaborating with multiple sites and functions to drive common solutions. •Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of employees in a multi-tasking environment and in multiple locations. •Strong project leadership experience with a diversity of team skills. •Demonstrated ability to influence senior management, teams and individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines and geographies. •Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule as necessary to meet customer requirements. •Strong interpersonal communication Meritor is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
