About the role:

This position will work with the Design, Aero and Simulation groups to create innovative cross discipline products.

You will work on a diverse set of projects to respond to the constantly changing industry, helping the Vehicle Development group fill in the gaps between Sim, Aero and Design.

As a Vehicle Development Engineer I, you will support other engineers in the group by executing tests, designing support equipment, analyzing test data and verifying solutions are properly executed by the production group.

What you will be doing:

  • Executing tests on components and systems
  • Configuring data loggers and using them to collect test data
  • Developing test equipment and test procedures for race car components
  • Using Unigraphics NX software to design fixtures and support equipment for testing
  • Analyzing test data and giving short summary suggestions for future development
  • Support execution of vehicle development project roll outs to production group
  • Utilize simulation tools, track data, testing results and data analytics to identify opportunities for vehicle development

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (four-year college or technical school) in Mechanical Engineering (Similar engineering degrees may be considered)
  • Collegiate motorsports program experience (FSAE, BAJA, or similar) preferred
  • 2 Years work experience strongly preferred
  • Professional motorsports, vehicle development testing or test equipmentinstrumentation experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with CAE/CAD software required
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a strong sense of attention to detail
  • Must work well under pressure with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated, driven, success-oriented individual with collaborative communication style
  • Ideal candidates will have exposure and fundamental understanding of
    • Vehicle Dynamics
    • Machine Design
    • Data Acquisition
    • Basic Aerodynamics
    • Test Equipment
    • Test Data Analysis Methods
  • Exceptional candidates would have experience in some of the following areas
    • Electronics and instrumentation
    • Engineering software, such as MATLAB or programming languages
    • Systems engineering and signals processing
    • Controls systems
    • Labview or similar controls software
  • The determination to work harder than anyone you know at something you love
