Job Description

The Senior RF Engineer will provide engineering expertise on a range of large scale in-building DAS projects. The individual will be responsible for the design, technical implementation, and

monitoring/maintenance of distributed antenna systems (DAS) and other managed networks. The Senior RF Engineer will work closely with internal teams to develop and deploy designs that meet or exceed internal and client expectations. This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Create, optimize, and review designs for public safety and cellular DAS networks
  • Create accurate design BOMs and ROMs
  • Research technologies, wireless carriers, and AHJ requirements
  • Provide pre-contract design deliverables and submittals
  • Perform site surveys and benchmark testing and provide comprehensive reports with analysis

and recommendations

  • Setup remote monitoring and provide Tier 2/3 support for cellular and public safety networks
  • Lead commissioning and optimization efforts for complex cellular and public safety networks
  • Review commissioning and test reports to ensure they meet coverage requirements
  • Provide training & technical support
  • Lead and mentor less-experienced engineers and technicians
  • Review sweep, CW PIM, OTDR, signal level and noise measurements
  • Create and review closeout documentation for all completed projects
  • Work with other departments to ensure sound technical implementation of the network
  • Create, maintain, and optimize templates, MOPs, and processes
  • Travel will be required to customer sites

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Electrical or Computer Engineering, preferred)
  • Master’s degree in Engineering preferred (Electrical or Computer Engineering, preferred)
  • Six or more years of DAS experience
  • 5 or more years of iBwave design experience for cellular and public safety networks
  • iBwave Level 2 certification or higher required
  • Thorough understanding of LTE, 5G NR, public safety (analog and P25) technologies
  • OEM experience with JMA, ADRF, CommScope, Comba, Fiplex, Nextivity, and SOLiD
  • Extensive experience with commissioning, optimizing, and troubleshooting DAS networks
  • Extensive experience using iBwave design software, spectrum analyzer, RF scanner, UE data

collection, and post-processing software

  • Extensive experience and understanding of RF propagation fundamentals and antenna theory
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal, presentation skills, and the ability to work on complex

technical problems
