– Job Description:

Job Summary

Provides automation support such as electrical schematics design and troubleshooting, PLC controls, and computer programming of industrial robotics for automated equipment at the plant, as well as supporting key company goals of reducing downtime, scrap and improving productivity.

Essential Duties Responsibilities

  • Expert programming and maintenance of Fanuc and Motoman Robots.
  • Maintain automation in Assembly, Machining and Foundry area are working efficiently.
  • Makes programming changes on automated manual equipment to improve up-time, improve recovery, reduce scrap, increase throughput.
  • Maintain databases in visual basic VB languages Manage Automation Changes driven by Customer needs or Product Design Changes.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems (PLC, Allen Bradley, CNC machines and Fanuc Robots, etc.)
  • Work with production supervisors, engineers and technicians responsible for supporting the hub assembly, rotor assembly, machine shop and foundry areas.
  • Train others, create work instructions and standard work documents.
  • Understand the MES Manufacturing Execution System interface with Automation.
  • Develop MES dashboard.
  • Coaches, trains, and mentors team members.

Qualifications Education Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Electrical, Computer or Electronics field required
  • Eight 8 or more years of experience as Controls Engineer in a highly automated manufacturing environment required
  • Experience solving practical problems and using structured problem solving like 5-Why, A3, 9-step, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Strong PLC, CNC, Industrial Programming, Networking, Data Collection and Controls skills.
  • PLC software and hardware
  • Industrial Robotics Fanuc and Motoman
  • Vision Systems, Light Curtain
  • Strong Computer Skills
    – ability to organize databases and create data structures Databases in VB Industrial networking and communication knowledge
  • Reasoning Decision Making




  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment related issues and determine short term and long term solutions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Electrical Certification in the form of 2 or 4 year degree in an Electrical Discipline, Electrician License, or Electrical Technician Certification.
