Reporting to the Engineering Test Labs Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the safety program in NEMA Engineering R&D lab in Fort Smith Arkansas.

In partnership with managers and employees, this position is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment and that people work safely.

Also responsible for all aspects of the quality system for NEMA Engineering R&D Lab in Fort Smith, AR.

Your responsibilities Safety duties – Maintaining all current lab specific safety and procedural documents and creating new ones as required Scheduling of additional safety training with outside vendors (i.e.

Qualified Electrical Safety, basic first aid and CPR) Coordinate perform and document various daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspections.

(including but not limited to ladders, tools, overhead door, GFCI, hoist/crane, storage rack, drop down power cords, etc.) Creating and maintaining LO/TO (Lock Out / Tag Out) procedures for each piece of equipment and doing annual review and training Environmental duties – Fulfill Environmental Training requirements, SDS inventory and training for the SDS online system Keeping inventory of chemicals using 3E SDS on-line system and control of prohibited and restricted chemicals entering lab area Quality Technician duties – Maintain ISO 17025 for NVLAP, CSA and UL accreditations.

Include scheduling and managing all required audits Maintain and monitor lab safety policies and procedures including: lab safety improvements, annual safety audits (LOTO), create and maintain MSDS, JSA, accident reports, update lab wiring diagrams as additional equipment is implemented, monitor testing conditions (test setups) for safety and keep up with OSHA requirements Your background Associate degree and minimum 5 years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years of related experience Exceptional analytical, communication and leadership skills Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, have good organization, documentation and communication skills, work well with others, have a strong desire to learn new things, able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities, and perform well under pressure Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Ability to read schematics and drawings Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US Benefits Retirement plan Life insurance Disability insurance Medical insurance Wellbeing program More about us ABB’s NEMA Motors Division markets, designs and manufactures the market-leading Baldor-Reliance® brand of industrial motors.
