Novo Nordisk expects to double production of diabetes and obesity products over the next decade; we have recently completed construction of a 825,000 sq.

ft diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) plant in Clayton, NC.

Our new API facility houses the fermentation, recovery and purification of GLP1 ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products.

Level and compensation will be evaluated based on experience.Position PurposeImprove systems & equipment reliability on assigned process, reduce system/equipment downtime on assigned process, & support operation of assigned process.Accountabilities* Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties* Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) in performance of assigned duties* Support the development & establishment of maintenance procedures, maintenance plans & spare parts lists for processes assigned* Perform corrective & preventative maintenance on assigned process in a timely manner* Interpret mechanical & electrical specifications, drawings & other technical data sheets* Ensure all maintenance activities are correctly documented in SAP* Partner with process owners to actively improve performance & reliability of process equipment* Contribute to growth & development of the maintenance team by training fellow technicians in areas of expertise as well as learning new systems* Use Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) tools to establish root cause analysis & resolve equipment issues* Suggest practical changes or improvements to equipment & department work practices* Collaborate with responsible engineers & manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot equipment problems* Other accountabilities, as assignedRequired Qualifications* Associates Degree in relevant field or equivalent military/industry experience, which includes a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical & control systems, or an equivalent combination of education & industry experience* Minimum one (1) year of relevant work experience* Demonstrates a systematic approach to problem solving & troubleshooting* Supports & actively participates in event response activities for the process* Documents problems & works to bring them rapidly to solutionDesired Qualifications* Knowledgeable in Process Areas listed above* Experience with automated records systems such as SAP/CMMS* Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams & other technical documents.

Computer literacy* Ability to use necessary meters, signal generators, hart/trex devices, & other electronic diagnostic tools* Experience in planning/organizing work, managing execution, checking results & revising the work plan in accordance with the daily work planPhysical & Other Requirements* Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

with assistance* Ability to work in confined spaces & near operating equipment* Occasionally works around odorous &/ hazardous materials.
