Our location in Abbott Park, IL currently has an opportunity for an Advanced Manufacturing Specialist.

WHAT YOU’LL DO Manufactures diagnostic assay components such as Antigen Fermentation/Purification; Tissue Culture; Solutions; Bulks; Micro particle Coatings; Conjugations; and/or Purifications.

Manufactures in highly regulated specialized facilities using complex equipment and systems.

Manufacturing and related activities must be documented with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.

Uses Abbott manufacturing information systems (SAP, MSS, WOTT) while performing manufacturing process steps.

Applies GMP; Bio burden reduction; and safety procedures.

Maintains multiple manufacturing certifications within the same area.

Occasionally functions as a trainer and resource for other manufacturing technicians for operations and manufacturing process knowledge.

Applies technical expertise developed to support problem resolution and process improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING Required 2 years experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably for a company involved in the production of FDA regulated products.

Displays proficiency with the techniques and methods used to manufacture probe based diagnostic products including operations associated with DNA labeling, oligo synthesis, HPLC, PCR verification, protein purification, cell culture and slide manufacturing.

Familiar with various electronic systems and databases used for resource planning, inventory management and document control.

Able to accurately follow complex technical instructions.

Provides written reports and status updates.

Has the capability to work effectively as part of a team.

Job requires regular movement between workstations and routine lifting of heavy materials High degree of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination is needed.

ability to work independently, displaying good judgment and decision making ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior Preferred Bachelors degree in a scientific or technical discipline is preferred Highly desired experience includes the following: GMP/ISO requirements, Previous laboratory experience preferably in manufacturing environment, laboratory skills, verbal and written communication skills, team participation, operational processes, laboratory equipment use/maintenance/troubleshooting, knowledge of performance metrics, technical documentation, computer use, training, document management and audits.

Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.

Highly desirable experience includes prior manufacturing certification or experience, analytical problem solving techniques, validations, change control knowledge, and document management.
