Role Value Proposition:

MetLife is looking for an experienced Sr. Engineer responsible for research, evaluate, design, and implementation of MetLife’s enterprise integration platforms. Sr. Engineer provides subject matter expertise across multiple integration technologies such as IBM Cloud Pak for Integration, App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM Message Queue (IMQ), API Connect, App Connect Professional. Offers innovative solutions to enhance planform stability, usability, and cost effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of middleware integration platform development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and flexibility as inputs into the evolution of the integration technology roadmap

• Promote and utilize automation to design and support configuration management, orchestration, and maintenance of the integration platforms

• Design and implement complex integration solutions globally through collaboration with engineers, architects, and application teams using Agile methodologies

• Configures a designs end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps

• Elevate and improve Developer experience by implementing self-service automation

• Mentors’ junior engineers and team members

• Planning and communication of upcoming installations.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

• 5+ years of direct technical experience on infrastructure architecture, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline optional

• Design and implementation best practices and hands-on administrative experience with at least two of the following products or appliances: Cloud Paks for Integration, MQ, App Connect Enterprise, API Connect platforms.

• 3+ years’ developing solutions to automate configuration management, orchestration, and maintenance of infrastructure platforms with 2+ years’ experience in the planning, implementation, support and management of Cloud solutions and technologies

• Technical leadership, ability to think strategically and effectively communicate solutions to various levels of management

• Ample experience with scripting and automation

• Experience with DevOps processes and key components

• Experience working in Agile environment

Preferred:

• Experience with open-source Integration technologies is a plus

• Experience with modern technologies such as Cloud/Azure, Containers and Chef

• Knowledge of operating system (Linux, Windows, AIX, iSeries)

• Knowledge developing scripts for automation (Chef, shell, Perl, PowerShell, Python, Java )

• Hands-on experience designing, configuring, and implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and automation scripts (Azure DevOps , Power shell, Perl, PowerShell, Python, Java )
