UNC Health Nursing Assistant Traveler Program
Rex Rehabilitation & Nursing Care Center of Apex
This is a Skilled Nursing Facility located in Apex, NC. This facility cares for patients requiring long-term care or skilled rehabilitation services. Patients require around-the-clock oversight and treatment that can only be provided by a team of healthcare providers, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.

Requirements:
- Three (3), 12 hour shifts per week required
- Required to work every other weekend for the duration of the agreement period
Non – Benefits Eligible Option
Agreement duration is 13 weeks – (with the ability for one 13 week renewal). Eligible for 403b teammate contribution.
Hourly Rate: CNA- $30-/hr
Benefits Eligible Option
Agreement duration is 26 weeks – (with the ability for one 26 week renewal). Benefits include: Health, Dental, Vision and 403b teammate contribution.
Hourly Rate: CNA – $24-/hr
JOB SUMMARY
Serves as a temporary traveling Nursing Assistant in a skilled nursing facility.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs activities of daily living for or with residents/patients.
2. Provides transport for residents/patients to designated areas within the facility.
3. Changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone.
4. Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
5. Provides for resident/patient safety, comfort and privacy when performing responsibilities.
6. Communicates pertinent resident/patient information to appropriate person(s).
7. Abides by all infection control regulations.
8. Completes annual Rehabilitation and Nursing competencies successfully.
9. Completes 12 hours of in-service education annually.
10. Answers call bells, alarms, or intercom system for any resident or patient to determine residents’/patients’ needs.
Other Information
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- None required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant Training program.
- NC Nurse Aide I Registry with DHHS.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous Nursing Assistant experience in clinical specialty desired.
