Datavail is seeking a highly skilled Sales Solution Architect to join our Global Solution Development team and drive growth for our Analytics and Database Global Practices.

Work as part of a virtual team with travel for collaboration on sales presentations, solution development, and occasional Datavail meetings.

Solution architecture is at the core of our growth strategy.

Solution Architects provide the organizational “glue” between our practice areas and our world-class sales and marketing organization.

In this role you will work 100% in the sales cycle and act as the quarterback of solutions.

You will partner with sales to drive new business while also partnering with our delivery/practice areas to provide solution proposals to solve our client’s needs while ensuring we can deliver high quality within or capabilities.

Job Description:
Your opportunity is to play a fundamental role in our expansion, and growth will come to those with a desire to lead, work hard, and collaborate in a low ego, high performance environment.

We are looking to add an experienced Solution Architect responsible for conceptualizing and architecting end to end solutions in areas such as: cloud modernization, data analytics and integration, data management, database migration, and database management.
Reporting to the Vice President of Solution Development, you will proactively engage with all internal teams to ensure timely delivery of appropriate solutions to customers and drive deal closure.

You will be able to collaborate with your peers to continually improve our standards and processes for solution development.

Your primary focus area will be on Analytics, Data Integration, and Database opportunities; however, you may also be asked to work with other service offerings that align with your expertise and skillsets.

There is also opportunity to expand your skillset, if you choose, into other Datavail core competencies.

Responsibility Areas
The solution architect will leverage existing collateral and collaborate with operations, sales, project management, and service delivery management to develop innovative approaches and execute in these responsibility areas.

Opportunity qualification
– You will be involved in numerous late-stage qualification calls in conjunction with the sales and marketing teams.

Engagement scoping
– Solution Architects lead the scoping effort for qualified engagements utilizing both Practice SMEs and other Solution Architects as needed.

This is a vital role which also typically involves intense communication and credibility building with clients.

Solution development
– Once a client’s business needs are understood, the Solution Architect leads the development of a solution set.

Our goal is always to “start with why”.

We need to provide the right solution not just fulfil an order.

Engagement pricing
– Whether a long-term managed service engagement, a consultative short-term project, or a multiyear implementation, Solution Architects spearhead the pricing process as a logical extension of solution development and scoping.

Sales support and closing
– In the complex world of IT outsourcing, no individual can close a deal alone.

A team typically comprised of sales, solution architecture, practice SMEs, and often delivery management is required to earn a client’s trust and their business.

Your role will be to prepare presentations, collaborate on messaging, build credibility, and participate in team presentations
– ultimately helping close engagements by reinforcing confidence in the Datavail delivery model, experience, and expertise.

Sales to Delivery handoff
– The internal kick-off is a critical function.

In conjunction with the rest of the sales team it is essential that knowledge gathered during the sales cycle and client expectations beyond just what may have been stated in a SOW is communicated thoroughly and clearly to the delivery team.

Core Experience: Education
– Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline Citizenship
– US (requirement of our regulated customers) or US Permanent Residence 15+ years applicable IT and Services Industry experience Solution experience
– Minimum 8 years of experience as a solution architect or consultant with solution development experience Scoping and pricing
– Scope determination and pricing for projects and ongoing managed services, especially large-scale technology relocation and management Sales Cycle
– Proven experience working in a sales cycle to qualify, position, solution, pitch, and close new business Written communication skills
– Excellent written communication with experience in complete SOW authorship and RFP responses Technical Areas
– Excellent understanding and hands-on experience architecting and delivering Analytics, BI, DI and Management solutions as well as experience with traditional database and DBA services Toolsets
– Proven ability to work across different data and analytics areas and toolsets such as: Enterprise Data Architecture, Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Data Integration, Tableau, Power BI, BOBJ, Redshift, Snowflake, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, AWS Aurora, ADF, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, etc.

– Experience with Cloud and traditional databases and DBA solutions such as Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Azure SQL, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.

Cloud Acumen
– Understanding and hands-on experience in delivering Cloud Modernization/Migration solutions and Cloud Managed Services to customers on either AWS/Azure, preferably both Understanding of global delivery model and positioning deals that make best use of nearshore/offshore High level to expert experience using Microsoft Office especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Microsoft Teams Exceptional consulting skills in communicating, establishing strategic direction, influencing others, negotiation skills, operational decision making, problem solving, facilitating and managing meetings, questioning and probing Highly skilled in value proposition development, solution selling, focusing on the customer, sales ability / persuasiveness, and business needs analysis Good understanding of market trends and technologies Excellent customer executive and senior level relationship building capabilities during a pursuit …..
