The position of Electrical Engineer, Operations will support key product lines within the Monroe Global Repair Center as part of the Interiors business unit.

This position is for a seasoned engineer in repair operations.

As part of the Collins Monroe MRO engineering team, you will help develop the next generation of a more integrated and smarter repair facility.

Responsibility Statement:

  • Supports value stream by ensuring test rigs are functioning properly, provide technical clarity on repair manuals, support other functions as required and support product daily output is met
  • Coordinates with OEM regarding product and warranty details
  • Drive a systematic problem solving, process improvement and value enhancement approach utilizing ACE/Lean Manufacturing and engineering principles
  • Will help drive the new product introduction for shops and transition into operating cells
  • Develop inspection plans; tear down plans, fault isolation plans, and any other investigation plans in support of investigating product failures
  • Must possess ability to creatively resolve problems and issues
  • Design, develop and test all electrical and electro-mechanical components, equipment and machinery
  • Use engineering principles to design products such as test rigs and fixtures
  • Identify problems conducting root cause analysis to determine correction action and validation
  • Coordinate implementation of Component Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and other airline directives
  • Prepare and conduct product maintenance and overhaul training
  • Ability to be flexible (change priorities as-needed), hands-on, analytical and intuitive
  • Must be able to provide technical support for multiple shops
  • Drives innovation and cost reduction projects within the shops focused on productivity and reliability
  • Engineer works and partners with technicians on technical training
  • Engineer will optimize their shop via cost reducing measures
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering with BS degree Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a similar engineering discipline from an accredited institution
  • Must be a U.S.

    Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering with MS degree Electrical Engineering or a similar engineering discipline from an accredited institution
  • Business acumen and knowledge with continuous improvement / lean tools and practices.
  • Experience with AutoTime, SAP, LabVIEW
  • 3+ years manufacturing experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar software
  • Experience in board level troubleshooting and higher assembly troubleshooting, operations, installation and/or repair of mechanical products.
  • Proficiency in MS Office such as Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel
