Code Publishing Company Sales Manager Code Publishing maintains and publishes over 600 deeply hierarchical and internally linked municipal legal documents for more than 500 customers, both through our web hosting services and in paper and in PDF.

We are looking for a seasoned sales manager to assist the COO and manage the sales department.

The Customer Service/Sales Manager will develop targets, performance plans, and objective standards for sales members.

Managing customer needs Act as the central hub for incoming customer editorial communications and collaborate with the production team to resolve complex questions while providing exemplary customer service.

Resolve customer questions and concerns by actively listening, communicating clearly and concisely, and assuring customer understanding.

Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and monitor their preferences.

Provide expertise in concert with CPC leadership when setting and adjusting pricing plans and discount rates.

Act as the CPC customer directory administrator ensuring user account information is accurately duplicated on our database, user account application, and web console application.

Contract management The sales managers task is to ensure consistent management of all proposals and contracts.

This generally includes oversight of the contract management process, as well as the development of specific standards for bidding and submission, contract negotiations and document management.

The sales managers role in the contract development process requires close collaboration with COO and production management.

Oversee organizational contract development and management activities, and enforce organizational principles of integrity and compliance.

Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly entered into organizational databases and securely maintained.

Conduct contract strategy meetings to identify issues and customer requirements, facilitate pricing discussions, and obtain senior management input on timelines and deliverables.

Draft contractual provisions based on strategy discussions, senior management input, and organizational needs and expectations.

Assure accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments.

Managing the business Develop sales strategies to acquire new customers or clients.

Maintain perspective customer relationships over the course of multiple fiscal years in order to turn leads to increased revenue.

Monitor competition, economic indicators, and industry trends.

Use friendly and professional phone demeanor.

Provide accurate feedback to customer inquiries regarding quotes and services.

Contribute to the design and development of the sales and marketing web components of the publishing platform in concert with other staff.

Provide demonstrations of web products over the phone.

Compile marketing materials.

Set up travel arrangements and attend state conferences representing CPC services.

Advance ones own professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and other educational training, participating in professional societies and industry networks, and reading professional and industry publications.

Qualifications Bachelors degree in English, communications, business, or related field preferred.

Three years of related experience.

Excellent phone etiquette and ability to deal with customer questions and problems with a pleasant and helpful attitude.

Team player attitude.

Good English language skills, both oral and written.

Experience with proofreading and business correspondence.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

Understanding of local government and the publishing industry preferred.

Must be able to start work by 8:00 am.

No weekends.
