ED, Senior Financial Officer

Purpose of JobThe Senior Financial Officer is accountable for the direction, control, and coordination of all financial activities aligned in supporting their assigned business or staff agency/agencies.

Financial Officer will be accountable for reporting financial outcomes, delivering business insights, and providing financial advice and guidanceJob Requirements* Demonstrates executive level thought leadership by coordinating and developing both strategic and operational financial plans for their assigned business or staff agency that aligns to the USAA mission and ensures continued financial strength.* Accountable for analyzing and reporting monthly operational results to senior leadership.* Provides advice and guidance on expense controls to maintain sound fiscal discipline and adhere to assigned budget.* Able to work in a fast paced environment that includes numerous ad hoc requests for analysis while maintaining accountability for normal daily operations.* Proven ability to lead and develop teams directly or work comfortably in a highly matrix environment.* Continuously looks for process improvement opportunities and identifies / escalates system gaps within the work flow process.* Builds strong internal customer relationships based on mutual trust with executives and senior leaders to better serve in a consultative role to help the business or staff agency achieve their strategic and operational financial outcomes.Minimum Requirements:Minimum Education:* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field required.* 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.Minimum Experience:* 10 or more years of progressive related experience developing strategies, managing major initiatives and delivering results within a complex matrix environment.* 4 or more years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams.* Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals.* Executive-level business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends.Preferred Requirements:* Previous experience with financial management of IT functions in a large bank setting, preferably with total annual IT budget in excess of $400M encompassing new project development, technology infrastructure, and application support.* Deep understanding of business case management and how to apply business cases to optimize Technology portfolios.

Demonstrated understanding of financial metrics such as IRR, ROE, hurdle rate, and NPV to measure IT projects and recommend investments.* Ability to apply familiarity with Banking operations and business case principals to identify and drive cost reductions across a large Bank footprint.* Experience utilizing reporting platforms such as Tableau, Business Objects, and/or Essbase to deliver deep financial insights from large data sets; ability to drive reporting automation while ensuring effective controls over financial reporting.* Depth and breadth of experience managing financial processes including Internal/External reporting, month-end close, budgeting & forecasting, and cost allocations.* Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with Senior Executives across IT and Bank Operations functions.

You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position.

The salary range for this position is: $135,400
